Windows XP - End of Life Issues

Use Firefox for browsing the web.
Use IE ****ONLY**** for trusted sites (banking, special sites for specific business use etc.)
Microsoft Security Essentials is no longer being updated by Microsoft. Switch to another Antivirus when that occurs (Avast works well)
